Boss has just put out a tasty reissue of the Roland RE-201 Space Echo, the venerated analog tape delay unit, as the Boss RE-202. Sporting a look that harkens back to the classic original, does the RE-202 have what it takes to bring back the magic of the Space Echo?
With stereo ins and outs, as well as MIDI control which responds to program change as well as the usual sync options, the Boss Space Echo RE-202 definitely looks like an interesting delay proposition.
The design of this reissue maintains the foot pedal factor of the RE-2 but it adds more control thanks to the more expansive footprint. This means this is perfect as a self-contained delay unit that can be at home either in a pedalboard or as a desktop effects unit.
